Principal Systems Engineer

Description:Our client headquartered in Virginia is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer based in Huntsville, AL. The position reports to the Manager of Engineering and offers a hybrid workplace with two remote days. The Principal Systems Engineer will serve as a technical expert and principal systems architect for System Engineering and perform analysis to assess compliance throughout the system development cycle.The ideal candidate has conducted analysis of weapon system performance and physical characteristics to identify and allocate mission, system and subsystem requirements. Possesses effective technical writing, presentation and communication skills.Duties/Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive indentured framework of requirements for use as performance, design, interface, support, production, cost and test criteriaPerform technical coordination, direction, review and status of complete System Engineering work package on advanced projectsConduct trade studies for development and optimization of system concepts and architectures in support of new and existing programsSupport proposals, development, define and develop scope of work and engineering conceptsPerform simulation verification testing and analysis to conduct and maintain evaluations of total weapon system effectivenessLead system design reviews to ensure balance of system definition and design incorporating requirements for system elements (subsystems, software, test and analysis tools, support equipment, facilities and operational)Achieve technical, program/system requirements and customer compliance milestones throughout the product development cycleSkills/Requirements:Experience in requirements analysis, system architecture development, design verification and integrationApply methodologies and processes for system requirements development verification, including modeling, analysis and testingProficient in developing and maintaining 6-DoF digital simulation and analysis toolsRequirements Management Tool, preferably DOORSMATLAB, Python, C++ or other high-level programming language (embedded software design a plus)Qualifications:10+ Years of experience in System Engineering (MBSE a plus)5+ Years of experience in Missile (or Guided Projectile) Design & DevelopmentBachelor's degree from accredited four-year College or University in Engineering (Master's a plus)Must be US Citizen and have active US Secret Security Clearance or eligibility to obtainBenefits:Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance3 Weeks Vacation & Year-End Time OffPaid Holidays & Sick LeaveHybrid & Flexible Work Environment401K Contribution & MatchingEducation ReimbursementRelocation Package
