Program Specialist IV

DSHS Central Campus, Austin, TX
Position Overview:
Siter-Neubauer & Associates, an affiliate of MRINetwork, is recruiting for a Program Specialist IV to join the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) at their Central Campus in Austin, TX. This role is integral in managing executive communications, coordinating responses, and ensuring clarity and compliance in documents for the Commissioner and executive leadership team.
Essential Job Functions:
Executive Correspondence Coordination (35%):
Manage and review all executive correspondence for the Commissioner, ensuring clarity, compliance with DSHS standards, and appropriate distribution.Document Management (35%):
Collaborate with various divisions and departments to ensure documents undergo necessary reviews and approvals. Return decisions to appropriate divisions.Tracking Process (20%):
Maintain an effective tracking system for executive correspondence, adhering to guidelines and procedures.Additional Duties (10%):
Support COVID-19 response and recovery efforts, assist with database setup and data transfer tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in reviewing, revising, and editing documents.Ability to manage multiple priorities and use Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and database software.Strong organizational skills and effective decision-making capabilities.Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of DSHS and health and human services programs.Experience with database setup and mail merge.Minimum one year of experience in correspondence, clerical skills, data management, and public health.
Schedule:
Hybrid staffing. In-office three days per week (flexible) and telework two days per week. Specific days in the office are subject to supervisor approval. Services required Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time.
