GENERAL SUMMARY:
Manage the daily operations of the security department. Assign responsibilities and tasks to support department function. Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and policies/procedures. Monitor and follow up on customer complaints and investigations. Manage and coach staff. Direct, prioritize and make daily adjustments to shift assignments and security deployment as necessary. Assist the Director of Security with developing both operational and capital budgets.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience
-OR- Associate's degree/Technical degree with 2 years of cumulative experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience
-OR- 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
Bachelors Degree preferred.
Law Enforcement preferred.
Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc preferred.
Security Professional preferred.
Security Guard preferred.
Law enforcement leadership experience preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Drivers License credentialed from the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles preferred.
Law enforcement leadership experience preferred.
Certifications Preferred:
ASIS International -Certified Protection Professional (CPP®); IAHSS
Certified Healthcare Professional; Association of Threat Assessment Professionals
Certified Threat Manager (CTM) Executive Law Enforcement Training Preferred: FBI National Academy
Northwestern University School of Staff and Command
Eastern Michigan University School of Staff and Command
MSU School of Staff and Command; or equivalent.
