As Sr. Communications Engineer at Gannett Fleming, you will be part of a dynamic and highly skilled transit communications team,
a vital contributor to the design and implementation of communication systems for transit and rail projects. Your role will encompass the entire project lifecycle, from concept development to construction support. Drawing on your construction and design experience, you will ensure that design specifications align seamlessly with client project requirements. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, producing detailed drawings and specifications, and leveraging your technical expertise to provide design solution that meet industry standards. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineering associates and develop design tools and processes to streamline and improve our design disciplines.
Bachelor's Degree or commensurate industry experience
10 years of experience in electrical and communications design for transit and rail systems.
Experienced designer with experience in two or more of the following sub-systems: Networking (Ethernet, FO, Layer1 and Layer 2, OSP and ISP) SCADA, RF, CCTV, Telephony PA/VMS.
Construction experience in a relevant field.
Proficiency in drafting, using tools such as AutoCAD, to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, communication networks, and integration principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, particularly in an engineering or construction environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
EIT or PE License and/or RCDD or be able to obtain them
Experience in multiple modeling and drafting software tools (MicroStation, REVIT, Blue Beam)
Project Management experience
Understanding and application of Electrical Codes and Class 2 wiring requirements.
Understanding of ADA and NFPA requirements
Experience in RF design, WLAN, WiFi and Voice Radio.
Experience with on site surveys and inspections
Experience with Cost Analysis and Construction Estimates
