The Role

Pilot is building a first-of-its-kind, software-centric solution to tackle the financial back office (bookkeeping, tax, CFO, etc.) so that founders and business owners don't have to. We already work with 1700+ customers in the tech startup and e-commerce spaces and are expanding rapidly, and the data team has a pivotal role in driving Pilot's growth.

As a data analyst at Pilot, you'll join a group of high-performing and motivated data professionals focused on impact and collaboration. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the organization to solve business-critical problems with your analytical skills.

We are seeking an individual who has demonstrated success in leveraging data to solve real-world business problems in SaaS or services-focused companies. You're passionate about using data to solve hard problems, and you're an expert in analyzing complex data and crafting compelling narratives to communicate your insights.

Key Responsibilities

Perform deep-dive analyses to uncover insights and influence business decisionsCreate and maintain company-wide metrics and reporting in LookerBuild high-quality DBT pipelines to automate data analysis and empower scalable analyticsHandle ad-hoc data requests, while addressing stakeholder teams' long-term goalsTrain and mentor other teams on how to best use data to drive their decisionsAbout You

Our requirements for this role are:

2+ years of relevant experience as data analyst (ideally SaaS or services-oriented companies)Experience leveraging data to inform business decisionsExpert-level knowledge of SQL and spreadsheet (GSheet/Excel)Experience with BI tools such as LookerStrong communication skillsHere are some preferred qualifications:

The base pay range target for the role seniority described in this job description is $103k - $139k in San Francisco, CA. Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors such as candidate experience and expertise, geographic location, total compensation, and market data. In addition to cash pay, full-time regular positions are eligible for equity, 401(k), health benefits, and other benefits; some of these benefits may be available for part-time or temporary positions.
