Roles & Responsibilities:
Sr Lead Software Engineer, Backend (Java, Python) Seeking Back End Software Engineer who is passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies and drive a major transformation within Securities Finance space at Northern Trust What You'll Do:Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions to deliver new capabilities in Securities Finance spaceShare your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate codeCollaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutionsUtilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Node, RDBMS, NoSQL databases, Snowflake, Databricks, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and services Basic Qualifications:At least 8 years of professional software engineering experienceAt least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) Preferred Qualifications:7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java and knowledge in Python & Node.js2+ years of experience with Azure or another cloud service4+ years of experience in open source frameworks2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
Salary and Other Compensation:The annual salary for this position is between depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
