What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an Energy Advisor to join our team. You will act as a local on-site program and company representative to commercial and residential customers. The Energy Advisor is primarily responsible for providing our services directly to homeowners, landlords, building owners and other utility customers. This position provides expert advice and coordination for our programs while recommending specific modifications to energy systems and educating prospective customers of the improved efficiency that our services will bring.
We are looking for someone who is excited about energy efficiency practices and technology and helping organizations, and individuals reduce energy costs and minimize their environmental impact. Individuals must be able to travel to various sites and collaborate with a diverse range of clients and professionals.
What You Will DoPerform detailed energy audits on residential, commercial, industrial, or institutional buildings to assess energy consumption, including electrical, heating, cooling, and lighting systems.Gather data on energy usage and building systems through on-site inspections, measurements, and interviews with facility managers or owners.Analyze collected data to identify inefficiencies, potential energy-saving opportunities, and areas where energy consumption can be reduced.Develop energy-saving recommendations and strategies to improve building or facility energy efficiency. This may involve upgrading equipment, modifying building designs, and implementing energy-efficient technologies.Prepare detailed energy audit reports that outline findings, recommendations, cost estimates, and potential energy savings. Present these reports to clients or stakeholders.Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal energy efficiency regulations and standards. Ensure that recommendations are in compliance with relevant codes.Collaborate with clients and facility managers to explain audit findings and recommendations, address their questions or concerns, and provide guidance on implementation.Use specialized software to model energy consumption, predict energy savings, and compare the effectiveness of different energy-saving strategies.Conduct post-audit assessments to verify the effectiveness of implemented energy-saving measures and ensure that savings are achieved.Provide information and training to clients and building occupants on energy-efficient practices and behaviors.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. What You Will Need
Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as engineering, environmental science, or energy management.AS Degree and equivalent experience will be consideredBPI certification1-2 years of experience in the electric or natural gas utility industry, facilities management, HVAC design or sales, commercial and industrial lighting, or conservation and energy managementPrevious energy efficiency and/or energy modeling experience preferredPrevious customer service, sales, or marketing experienceKnowledge of energy systems, building technologies, and energy-efficient practicesStrong data analysis and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with energy audit tools and softwareExcellent communication and presentation skillsAttention to detail and the ability to work independently and in a teamKnowledge of relevant energy codes, regulations, and industry standardsAbility to travelWhat We Offer
