As a Project Manager-Automation and Electrical, you will be accountable to oversee results of multi-functional project teams and be responsible for the administrative/operational leadership of a project within the guidelines set by the AWC Technical Account Manager and the Client. You will be tasked with managing projects and fostering relationships that will help grow our business. Success is measured by meeting project objectives while working towards exceeding customer requirements and expectations. You will be working closely with the Automation and Electrical Manager, Technical Account Managers, and Application Engineers as you grow and apply your skills, knowledge, and abilities. The successful candidate must be innovative, passionate, and resourceful while demonstrating technical skills. The position is a Hybrid role that can be located in the Greater New Orleans, LA, Baton Rouge, LA or Lafayette, LA metropolitan areas and will require routine travel to the office.
How you'll make an impact:
Provide the guidance to develop project scopes, preparation of conceptual and detailed cost estimatesLead team to develop schematics, detailed drawings and specifications needed for all new system designs, expansions, or system improvementsEvaluate risks associated with various optionsEnsure all stakeholders of projects including operations, maintenance, finance, business development both agree with the scope and are aware of project statusManaging the contracts, project schedule, and communicate the schedule to the leads, obtaining status, managing scope, and managing issues and risksMaintain the Company's competitive position and assuring alignment with business objectivesWork to ensure that integrators and suppliers deliver, in accordance with approved plans, specifications and industry standardsEstablish testing and inspection procedures for quality control of all projectsProvide guidance to the Project team to assure Q/C requirements are met on all projectsManage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scopeDevelop implementation plans that include analyses such as cost-benefit or return on investment (ROI)Identify, review, and select vendors or consultants to meet project needsInitiate, review, and approve modifications to project plansMonitor/track project milestones and deliverablesNegotiate with project stakeholders and suppliers to obtain resources or materialsDevelop detailed project reports to convey project status to Management and stake holdersAssess current or future customer needs and priorities through communicating directly with customers, conducting surveys, or other methodsMonitor, document, and communicate performance of project team membersSkills you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience in a related fieldAbility to proofread for accuracy and finalize documents professionally with a strong attention to detailKnowledge of: Project management practices & procedures; Smart Power Systems; Electric power distribution products, listed above, and their application in the industrial environment; Pricing strategies; Distribution channels; Technology trends & emerging technologies.Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate accurately and effectively. Must be able to effectively interface with a variety of technical as well as project management teamsDetail oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyComputer skills, ability to use Microsoft Office/Teams tools to analyze and solve routine problemsUnderstanding of electrical drawings and one-line diagramsUnderstanding of UL, NEC, Atex, IEC & Nema StandardsHere's what will set up apart:
