Our client located Nashville is in need of a
Controller . Their ideal candidate will possess a CPA license and is accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role requires effective communication and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with other team members to achieve shared goals and expand knowledge.
Controller Responsibilities:
Complete all tax preparation tasks for clients before tax team reviewPrepare and review complex Federal and State income tax returns, including C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships and individual returnsAssist in international tax planning and compliance, including handling waivers and tax returnsReview and oversee quarterly tax projections and estimated tax paymentsSupport the year-end shareholder bonus processAdhere to and maintain tax reporting policies and proceduresConduct quality control reviews of financial statementsPrepare and review tax correspondence and oversee audits and tax noticesEnsure the timely completion of tasks assigned to the tax departmentSign off on 1099 reports prior to tax team reviewAssist in the review of business annual reports, franchise tax returns and other local and state filingsEnsure financial statements meet qualifications for tax return purposesReview client invoicing for tax services providedManage and delegate tax-related projects as assigned by leadershipAssist with ad hoc projects as needed
Controller Requirements:
Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel and tax softwareFamiliarity with multi-tiered organizational structures that include both business and personal componentsExperience in a business management firm or entertainment industry setting, providing transferable skillsStrong attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely reportsA strong work ethic and a positive attitude, aligned with the company's culture and valuesBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or EconomicsActive CPA licenseA master's degree in taxation is a plus7+ years of experience in tax preparation or review
