Summary:

The Technical Lead Manager, Operational Start Up and Readiness Engineer role will lead a small team of Operational Start Up and Readiness Engineers at the leading edge of Facility Operations to prepare for turnover and initial operation of our growing fleet of Data Centers. The team manages stakeholders spread across multiple time zones driving the success of our individual projects and overall program. The candidate will need to be experienced in critical operations, process optimization, program management and assessment.

Technical Lead Manager, Operational Startup & Readiness Engineer Responsibilities:

Manage a team of Operational Start Up and Readiness Engineers to deliver individual projects and the overall program.

Work across regions and in partnership with Field Operations, Facilities Engineering, and DEC to understand and deliver support needs and priorities.

Develops detailed roadmaps in support of the overall program strategy.

Communicates roadmap and actively works with cross-functional partners to resource and execute plans.

Collaborates with internal and external strategic partners spanning all disciplines and functions within the Infra Data Centers organization.

Responsible for validating the successful execution of the Facility Operations Site Startup project plans for multiple locations, working closely with cross-functional teams to support meeting all project milestones during construction.

Identify and correct gaps in existing processes or lack thereof related to assigned locations.

Influence cross-functional partner involvement at both the tactical and strategic level.

Serve as a technical/consultative resource concerning operations of Data Center facilities and equipment through construction and initial handover.

Coordinate with the site Facility Operations teams to facilitate execution of the Construction/Facility Operations handover checklist. Verify all deficiencies are documented with temporary mitigation plans in place, and that a roadmap exists outlining implementation of final corrective actions and closeout.

Interface and coordinate with internal organizations and stakeholders to support driving Day One readiness at turnover.

Perform remote and local assessments of Meta team’s readiness for Day One readiness.

Ensure consistency and use of best practices across the fleet in transition from construction to operations and Day One readiness.

Provide for cross communications with counterparts at all data center sites, with the leadership team, and with adjacent operating teams to share lessons learned and best practices that optimize construction activities and Day One readiness.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (25%-35%).

Minimum Qualifications:

15+ years experience with construction and/or operations of mission critical facilities

10+ year’s experience coaching and developing people

Experience leading teams and sub-contractors

Experience educating and influencing cross-functional teams

Experience communicating risk versus benefit

Experience in integrated change management across a global organization

Analytical and creative thinking experience

Experience in effectively distilling and communicating complex details throughout all organizational levels

Preferred Qualifications:

4-year degree in an engineering or technical discipline (mechanical, electrical, or controls)

Experience in mission critical operations or construction

Formal project management training, experience and PMP certification

Six-sigma certification

Intermediate to Advanced skills in the Google suite of tools and other similar collaboration software. Experience in project management software (e.g. MS Project, P6, etc.), construction management tools, and data visualization software and tools

Public Compensation:

$142,000/year to $202,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
