Job Summary:
The Visualization Engineer AMI Analytics team will be essential in crafting impactful and insightful data visualizations across various platforms. This role requires advanced skills in visualization tools. The engineer will manipulate and transform datasets, understand medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold tables), and integrate data from multiple sources to deliver clear, actionable visualizations. Additionally, they will collaborate with internal customers to establish requirements and deliver innovative solutions, ensuring that complex data is presented in an intuitive and user-friendly manner. The engineer will also excel in data storytelling, transforming complex data into compelling narratives that drive decision-making and business insights.Key Responsibilities:
Advanced Data Visualization: Utilize tools such as React.js, Power BI, and Tableau to create dynamic and interactive visualizations.Design and develop geospatial analytics using visualization tools like Carto, MapBox, or ArcGis Online.Transform and structure datasets effectively for maximum insight extraction and effective analytic storytelling.Data Manipulation and Transformation: Query, transform, and integrate data from various sources while adhering to medallion architecture principles.Collaborate with data engineers when necessary, aiming for self-sufficiency in data handling.User-Centric Visualization Design:
Work closely with end-users to understand their needs and ensure visualizations are clear, concise, and actionable.
Convert complex data into intuitive formats that support decision-making.Collaboration and Support: Assist data engineers with data movement, leveraging cloud technologies and minimizing dependency on dedicated engineers.Engage with internal customers to gather requirements and deliver innovative solutions.Ensure that complex data is presented in an intuitive and user-friendly manner.Data Storytelling: Present complex data in a clear and compelling manner to drive business insights.Transform complex data into compelling narratives that drive decision-making and business insights.Job Requirements:Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.3+ years of experience in similar roles.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, D3.js, Plotly, React.js for advanced data visualization.Proficiency in SQL, and Python for data querying and transformation.Nice to have experience in geospatial analytics using visualization tools like Carto, MapBox or ArcGis Online.Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration techniques.Strong grasp of UX/UI design principles for data visualization.Understanding of medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold tables) for data structuring.Familiarity with Azure services and cloud-based data movement.Basic knowledge of data engineering principles to assist in data movement and transformation tasks.Experience with metadata creation and documentation.Understanding of color theory, layout design, and best practices in data visualization usability.Experience with version control systems such as Git.Knowledge of data security and governance practices.Experience with performance tuning and optimizing data visualization solutions.Ability to conduct thorough testing and validation of data visualizations.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and consistency.Behavioral Attributes:
