Manager, Event OperationsApply OnlineTyler Technologies is looking for a Manager, Event Operations to join our Marketing team! The Event Operations Manager will oversee meetings, events, and trade show processes, procedures, and technology platforms to maximize Tyler's business impact. This leader will partner closely with various marketing teams to develop and implement operational strategies that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of Tyler's events and trade shows.The Event Operations Manager will have a significant impact on processes and procedures that protect and strengthen the company's interests.They maintain mutually beneficial relationships with hotel national sales organizations, technology vendors, destination management organizations (CVBs), and industry associations. The Event Operations Manager will support a strategic meetings management plan that help align meetings and business objectives to deliver value by saving on operational costs, mitigating risks and improving how events are managed. They do this by centralizing visibility into planning, sourcing, contracting and reporting functions.As a part of Tyler's corporate staff, you will make an impact on outcomes that affect various areas of the company. Your work will ultimately support our team members, clients, stakeholders, and the public sector.LocationPlano, Texas | Yarmouth, MaineTravel10-25%ResponsibilitiesStrategic Meetings Management Program Support:Streamline processes related to contracts and service agreements to improve rate negotiation and identify preferred suppliersOperationalize meeting, event, and trade show processes and procedures: define and manage rules for workflows and approvalsEstablish and manage consistency in planning, sourcing, promoting, delivering, and surveyingReconcile expenses and assign event costs to specific budget codesTrack, measure, analyze, and report on events enterprise-wideMaintain solid working relationships with hotel NSOsBuild and manage team best practices

Asset Management Oversight:

Lead team responsible for procuring, and managing logistics of trade show booths and other equipmentMaintain vendor relationships for the storage, production, labor and shipping of equipmentEstablish and manage inventory protocols

Event Technology & ServicesOversee sourcing, implementation, and maintenance of software used to manage trade shows, meetings, and events, including but not limited to registration, delivery platforms, mobile apps, lead capture, trade show management systems, event management systems, and networking toolsBuild and maintain relationships with technology and service providersManage negotiation and contracting of AV, show services, and shippingManage lead capture procedures and provide actionable data for constituents

Event Operations Team ManagementHiring, training, and managing a team of corporate event operations specialistsManaging a master project listIdentifying and assigning resources to manage projects assigned to the teamDeveloping and instituting team best practices

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or comparable work experience10+ years related work experience in a corporate, agency or hospitality industry environmentCMP (Certified Meeting Professional) preferredCMM (Certified Meeting Manager) preferredDES (Digital Event Strategist) certification is a plusProject management experience and the ability to prioritize and delegate to meet implementation milestonesSoft skills required to communicate tasks, deliverables and feedback to colleagues and vendorsAnalytic thinking skills to understand key metrics, derive insights, evaluate performance, and recommend improvementsAbility to anticipate and adapt to complications and come up with contingency plansTravel to events on-site as neededExcellent planning, organizing and problem-solving skills a mustStrong communication and decision-making skillsExcellent people skillsBasic understanding of our industry (Public Sector Software) and marketing conceptsStrong Macintosh or PC skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and especially PowerPoint)The Event Operations Manager must be able to:

Motivate a team of individuals and maintain a high-level of productivity and accountability for the team's progress through analysis, reports, presentations and updatesNegotiate, plan, organize, communicate, execute and develop contingency plansMaintain proficiency in meeting industry trends to create detailed plans for large scope projectsManage expensesAnalyze and report on historical, live, and post conference and trade show informationUnderstand and convey company messages and objectivesResearch, organize and express information in a written formatEstablish Priorities and meet deadlinesHandle multiple tasks while paying close attention to details
