Position Overview
We are currently seeking an innovative, hard-working individual interested in joining our team of designers. This position will focus on interior architecture in a variety of market sectors such as Aviation, Hospitality, Corporate, Retail, Multi-Family, and Industrial. The candidate must have experience collaborating with design, engineering, and technical leadership as part of a project team. The candidate must also have experience working with clients, attending meetings and presenting design solutions in a clear and concise manner. The position requires a motivated, self-driven individual capable of working on multiple projects and preparing design documents, renderings and construction drawings while also mentoring less experienced design team members. He/she will be involved in the analysis of design problems and developing solutions as part of a multi-person team.
General Responsibilities
Establish and understand the client's needs and objectives from which programmatic requirements can be established. Interact with clients, consultants and public agencies on all assigned projects. Initiate, create and present your design ideas. Identify and analyze critical issues; implement project influences into the design constraints (i.e. building codes, zoning restrictions, client budget, etc.). Develop conceptual strategies, including design sketches, three dimensional modeling, plan development, elevation studies, etc. Coordinate with other team members, including contractors, architects and engineers to ensure job success. Select furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE). Conduct research as directed for product and finish selections; assist in the development of finish plans and specifications. Produce construction documentation, including drawings, details and specifications. Adhere to building codes and ADA compliance throughout project life cycle. Participate in, and occasionally lead the Construction Administration phase of the project, including attending site meetings, responding to Requests for Information, reviewing submittals, issuing modifications to contract documents, preparing field reports and other duties as required by the project. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture NCIDQ certification preferred 4-6 years project design experience Technical proficiency in Revit and Design and Rendering/Modeling programs such as Enscape, 3D Studio Max, or Rhino Technical proficiency in Bluebeam and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc) Strong skills in programming, space planning, and materials selection Demonstrate substantial knowledge of construction documents, building codes, ANSI / ADA, and BOMA Standards Working experience in all phases of a design project Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively Strong organization, planning and prioritization skills
