Database Administrator
S2Technologies is currently looking for a Database Administrator to join our team. This position requires you to be onsite five days a week (M-F), with rotating on-call shifts.
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and manage database systems including Sybase ASE & Replication, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
Monitor and optimize database performance using tools such as AWR, ADDM, Explain Plan, and SQL Trace.
Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies.
Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patch management.
Automate routine database administration tasks using shell scripting.
Ensure data integrity and security across all database systems.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and design.
Manage cloud-based database services on AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, Redshift).
Utilize database management tools such as DBArtisan, SQL Server Management Studio, pgAdmin, and MongoDB Compass.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.
Professional Experience and Skills:
Proven experience as a Database Administrator with expertise in Sybase ASE & Replication, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
Proficiency in operating systems including UNIX (AIX, Solaris), Linux, and Windows.
Experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, Redshift).
Strong knowledge of database management tools and utilities: DBArtisan, SQL Server Management Studio, pgAdmin, and MongoDB Compass.
Expertise in performance tuning and optimization using AWR, ADDM, Explain Plan, and SQL Trace.
Proficiency in shell scripting for automation.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Education:
4+ years of experience in Database Administration
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience supporting federal government contracts.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications in database administration or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Oracle Certified Professional).
Security Clearance:
