1st Edge is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team. In this position, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining software for the Missile Defense Agency. You will develop complex software applications, to include creating and maintaining graphical front-end interfaces, visualization toolsets, SQL Database interfaces, multi-user GUI interfaces, and database management applications.
This position is on-site at 1 st Edge LLC or customer location in Huntsville, AL .
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
Develop and deliver customized software products in support of multiple Agency stakeholders
Use agile methodology to support the rapid development and delivery of standardized, reliable, integrated and secure capabilities to the applicable stakeholder
Evolve Missile Defense Agency software development methodologies for data center software tools to the use of DevSecOps, Agile, and Continuous Integration, Continuous Development, and Continuous Deployment software development approaches
Provide expertise in developing software solutions that leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning based applications
Identify and integrate commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), Government off-the-shelf (GOTS), and open-source software to enhance the capabilities of agency software
Migrate legacy COTS/GOTS hardware and software applications to the agency hybrid cloud services
Work as member of an integrated software development team that leverages personnel and materiel efficiencies across multiple efforts
Essential job skills include:
Ability to collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and weapon system program stakeholders to develop requirements and integrate software in MDA development environment
Working knowledge of Software Engineering Institute/Capability Maturity Model Integration (SEI/CMMI) Level 3 requirements and processes
Ability to modernize legacy software applications
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Prepare presentations and reports to communicate complex technical concepts to a broad audience
Desired qualifications:
Experience using agile methodology in a DevSecOps environment to support the rapid development and delivery of standardized, reliable, integrated and secure capabilities to the stakeholder
Knowledge and expertise regarding processes, procedures, and configuration management approaches to include standard best-practice processes
Knowledge of missile defense simulations, test scenarios, trajectory analysis, weapon systems, sensors and command and control systems
Required qualifications:
3 + years of related experience
You
must be a U.S. Citizen and have, or be able to obtain, a secret security clearance.
Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, mathematics, or related discipline
