Apply Now (https://phh.tbe.taleo.net/phh04/ats/careers/v2/applyRequisition?org=POWERENGINEERS&cws=44&rid=17116)Senior Protection EngineerPOWER Engineers is currently seeking a Protection Engineer to work in the Power Delivery SCADA & Analytical Services (SAS) Department in our Syracuse, NY office. Flexibility is available for a remote work schedule. Candidates will be expected to travel on occasion, and work successfully in a customer focused, project-oriented environment.Roles and ResponsibilitiesProjects will require the candidate to conduct all work associated with protective relaying, including short circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, protection scheme and criteria development, relay settings, integration with SCADA systems, NERC compliance, arc flash analysis. Projects will be performed for utility, industrial and commercial clients. The candidate will also be required to analyze a variety of systems, which include conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, and transmission & distribution systems. Other roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Technical and budgeting support for proposal developmentStaffing assigned projects with appropriate engineers while providing oversight to meet agreed upon schedule and budgetThe successful completion of assigned projectsMaintaining and improving existing client relationshipsGrowing and developing new technical service areasLeading and mentoring team members assigned to projectsThe successful candidate must also demonstrate:Technical competence in primary production rolesThe ability to troubleshoot and problem solveInterpersonal relationship building skillsIntegrityInitiative and self sufficiencyGood spoken and written communicationGood organization*Required Education/Experience*Bachelor of Science and/or EngineeringTen (10) + years of industry experienceMust have a PE or equivalentTechnical experience in Protective Relaying (i.e., short circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, protection scheme and criteria development, relay settings, integration with SCADA systems, NERC compliance, arc flash analysis).Experience utilizing AcSELerator Quickset (SEL-5030), GE Enervista, ASPEN Oneliner, SKM-PTW, ETAP, CAPE, and/or RSCAD/RTDS*Desired Education/Experience*Power Systems focused MastersA proven history of completing similar projects in a consulting environmentExperience in mentoring others and in providing technical and commercial leadership in customer focused engineering projectsAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
