Job Description
Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Roadway Design Transportation Group candidate to join our Roadway Design Transportation Group located in our Raleigh, NC office location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
Lay out horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for road widening projects
Model and design roadway improvement projects using AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer
Use 3D visualization software for client and public communication presentations
Develop plan sheets and compile project packages for project submission
Complete roadway and drainage calculations utilizing software and reference material
Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates
Research and download available GIS open-source data
Complete field observations and data collection for office use and project discussion
Learn new technology to advance own skill set and group knowledge
Attend project meetings with clients and contractors
Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
A bachelors or master's degree in civil engineering or closely related field
Ideal candidates would have at least two years of experience in transportation civil engineering related to roadway design
Bentley OpenRoads Designer proficiency preferred
AutoDesk Civil 3D proficiency preferred
VDOT experience preferred
EIT preferred
