The Family Medicine Residency Program at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Shadyside (Pittsburgh, PA) is seeking to hire a full-time faculty member to join our team.
Our Family Medicine (FM) Residency is one of the oldest in the country, having received accreditation over 50 years ago. Our robust residency is growing to a 12-12-12 program, which is why we are looking to hire an additional faculty member. We are the most urban of the UPMC FM training sites, serving a diverse patient population.
It is the mission of UPMC Shadyside Family Medicine Residency Program to develop competent and confident Family Physicians to succeed in all domains of Family Medicine. We provide comprehensive training in a rigorous academic environment and pride ourselves on the diversity of our residents, faculty, staff, and patients. We are committed to reducing health disparities through education, inclusive patient experiences, and the advancement of equity and social justice initiatives. Our graduates become patient allies and community partners through their training in evidence-based medicine and patient-centered care. We believe that we can serve our communities and change our world by providing the best care possible for each and every patient.
Our faculty provide direct patient care, supervise residents outpatient, inpatient and either at a nursing home or at Magee Hospital on Labor and Delivery, help educate allopathic and osteopathic medical students in a variety of settings, do scholarly activity, serve as advisors and mentors, and lead all curriculum required for residency education. Our family health center offers integrated behavioral health, pharmacy support, social workers, substance use recovery, and numerous specialty clinics primarily staffed by our faculty.
As a core faculty member, this individual will be an integral member in the Family Medicine Residency and will be affiliated with the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.
