Position Overview:
The role we are offering will primarily support the delivery of client services for established LAM accounts. The focus of this role will be on conducting market studies for our clients to determine optimal Dealer Network Solutions.
Urban Science Proprietary Software solutions and Dealer Network Analysis Process (DNAP) will be used to determine the best number of dealerships and geographic locations to maximize customer convenience and market share capture.
The individual in this role will be responsible for assigned projects, planning, organizing, developing, and delivering client-requested projects and ad hoc requests within a prescribed time schedule.
This will include client-requested projects and requests that will be used to enhance LAM solutions.
The successful candidate will be required to leverage their technical, automotive retail network analysis, and communication skills to independently execute these high-quality solutions for our clients.

Base Salary Range:
The salary range for the Coastal Region is $136,850.00 to $172,380.00 with the possibility of a discretionary bonus. Salaries may vary outside California. The range is based on market pay structures, but individual salaries are determined by factors such as business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications including skills, education, and experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a Dealer Network Analyst, your role will be crucial in producing dealer network studies of varying complexity levels, from simple to complex, with minimal supervision. These studies play a significant role in shaping in strategic decisions.
Typical types of dealer network studies you will be involved in include: National-level “blueprint” market studies are used to determine strategic optimal dealer networks based on dealer number, location, and performance.
Individual market studies are conducted to optimize network performance within a local market area based on existing networks and/or greenfield opportunities.
Consult with the client on their strategic vision and point-of-view about what they want to accomplish with their dealer network planning activities.
Know and utilize, if appropriate, any key metrics the client focuses on.
Review the recent history of the dealer network for insights on how past events may have affected current performance.
Know recent or current initiatives in place to improve the dealer network.
Take initiative to anticipate client concerns and questions and build them into the analysis.
Utilize Urban Science Ni2 software and the Dealer Network Analysis Process (DNAP) to analyze data from the following sources: vehicle registrations, Urban Science DataHub, demographics, employment rates, economic information, etc.
Evaluate customer shopping behavior and individual dealer performance that affects individual markets.
Utilize DNAP, the data evaluated in Ni2, any supplemental information, and the Subject Matter Expert’s soft skills and dealer network analysis experience to construct a pragmatic and coherent “story of the market” that clearly presents the facts and recommendations to the client.
Demonstrate the ability to bring clarity and understanding to a complex situation and give the client confidence in Urban Science’s recommendations.
If required, effectively present studies to the client clearly, concisely, and confidently.
Create and present an executive summary of the “story of the market” that provides the client with a high level of confidence in the analysis and recommendations.
Ability to “think on your feet” and “read” the audience for cues about how the material is received during a presentation, especially to senior-level executives.
Address all client concerns and requests generated during the presentation.
Respond to the client’s dealer network inquiries and provide assistance as needed, including but not limited to answering questions about Ni2 map and report products displaying registration data, sales data, dealer census data, demographic data, and geography and Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word).
Provide general staffing support, including, but not limited to, creating general business reports, presentations, etc., as the client’s market representation department management may request.
You may need to work closely with our Urban Science Data Analytics teams to create alternative data models where traditional data sets such as sales and registrations are not readily available. This collaborative approach is essential for the success of our projects. This may require working closely with the Urban Science Expert Analytical Services team to consult on the appropriate approach to analysis and recommendation framing within the context of state dealer franchise laws (U.S.A. markets).
Successfully planning and executing in-person visits to markets to evaluate market conditions, evaluate competitive dealer networks, photograph dealerships, identify areas of significant retail activity and areas of growth/decline, and perform other tasks related to a market visit as required by the client may be required.
Develop a deep awareness and understanding of automotive industry dealer network planning activities and our clients’ environment, including state dealer franchise laws, emerging alternative retail formats, new brands entering the market, EV adoption and supporting infrastructure needs, supply chains, etc. Your role is integral to the success of our operations in the automotive industry.
Actively support and participate in Urban Science network certification training programs to achieve targeted certification levels, providing you with the opportunity for continuous growth and learning in the field of dealer network analysis.Track, process, analyze, and verify data using Microsoft products.
Adhere to and uphold the highest quality control standards for Urban Science and Client(s), ensuring that our work is always of the highest standard and meets the expectations of our clients.
As part of your role, you will be responsible for conducting client training as needed. This will involve preparing and delivering training sessions, ensuring that clients fully understand and can effectively use the tools and data we provide.

Oral communication skills necessary to express ideas clearly to individuals and groups, including senior executive-level clients.
Written communication skills are necessary to communicate complex concepts and ideas clearly and concisely at a level appropriate for the audience.
Ability to analyze problems and identify alternative solutions, applying appropriate Urban Science methodology.
Must be able and willing to travel to fulfill the current and arising requirements of the role as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or equivalent foreign institution is required, master’s degree preferred
Minimum of 8 years related work experience required (10 years’ experience preferred)
SQL experience highly desired
Advanced Excel experience is required
Microsoft Office Suite skills required

Urban Science Network Certification is preferred for internal candidates. For external candidates, if hired in this role, continual progress and success in obtaining Network Certification will be a requirement.
