Job Description
Storage Architect will primarily design, architect and build solutions for enterprise storage systems and backups in our global data centers and business offices. Storage disciplines should focus on Dell PowerMax, NetApp Cluster mode, Nasuni Cloud Appliance as well as Dell Isilon, Dell Unity, Dell ECS & Brocade Fabric and Backup Solutions (NetBackup primarily). Must have working knowledge Linux systems, Windows & VMWare. Working knowledge for the functions of - Network and Infrastructure Security, Capacity Planning, Performance Management, High Availability and Disaster Recovery, Maintenance are all required. The candidate will collaboratively work within a high performing team within a globally dispersed organization. Prior working experience in a global role is deserved as well as ability to work and function independently with minimal oversight.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and Architect cost effective, integrated engineering solutions focused on supporting Western Digital global storage, backup and data environments.
Storage exposure and working experience with variety of storage arrays, including Dell/EMC (PowerMax, Unity, Isilon & ECS), NetApp and object storage solutions.
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot storage related issues working with cross functional teams.
Manage SAN Fabric using Brocade Directors & Cisco MDS switches.
Design, architect & manage backup solutions & strategies for disaster recovery.
Expert knowledge of NetApp hardware and software experience administering in mission-critical, 7x24 production environments.
Expert knowledge Dell PowerMax/Isilon/Unity hardware and software experience.
Experience with Dell ECS/Active Scale Object storage / Google Cloud Storage.
Experience with Backup softwares (NetBackup is must).
Solid understanding of Network Appliance (NetApp) CDOT operations principles and techniques.
Strong knowledge of FC, CIFS, NFS, storage monitoring and upgrades of both OS and firmware.
Experience with All-Flash storage arrays and Nasuni Cloud Appliance is a plus.
Experience with Brocade Director class switches.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED
Minimum of a BS in Computer Science with 8+ years or MS with 5+ years.
Prefer that the candidate has worked in storage field.
SKILLS
Excellent oral and written skills and ability to interact with senior management, business customers and external storage vendors.
Strong organization, planning, and project management skills.
Ability to adjust, sort and distinguish priorities. Handle multiple tasks and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to meet deadlines and commitments in an environment that requires multitasking among multiple concurrent projects while also handling interrupts.
Guide, mentor, and advice junior team members.
Working knowledge of Symantec NetBackup, VMWare ESXi server & vSphere software is a plus.
