The Boston University School of Public Health (BU SPH) seeks a dynamic, strategic, and results-oriented Director of Business Development, Strategic Growth and Administration to lead and oversee the overall operational, financial, and business development functions of the Center for Health Data Science (CHDS). This critical role will support CHDS in achieving its mission by driving strategic efforts and activities aimed at promoting the growth, sustainability, and impact of the CHDS through business development initiatives, ensuring sound financial management, and streamlining administrative operations. Reporting to the Executive Director for CHDS, the Director will collaborate closely with CHDS leadership to develop and execute short- and long-term strategic goals, enhance organizational clarity, and ensure efficient operations across the center. The successful candidate will have a strong background in building strategic partnerships, securing funding and grants, developing center capabilities and programs, financial planning, administration, and forecasting; and possess excellent leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills. The position requires exceptional organizational capabilities and a commitment to excellence in operational execution.
Qualifications
Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g. public health, business administration).
10+ years of experience in administrative leadership, business development, financial management, preferably within a research or academic environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead business development efforts, secure funding, and manage high-level partnerships.
Expertise in business development, contract negotiation, budgeting, financial analysis, and compliance with institutional and regulatory financial policies.
Proven success in managing and developing staff, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications
