RADIATION ONCOLOGYFull Time81306BRJob SummaryUnder the general direction and supervision of the Radiation Oncologist and the Chief Therapist, theRadiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with the prescription andinstructions of the physician. The Radiation Therapist II is also responsible for simulation of treatmentfields and assisting in the calculation of dose to be delivered (when required), as prescribed andsupervised by the Radiation Oncologist.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. Saint Francis Memorial Hospital and associated outpatient clinics are now part of UCSF Health. Adding these hospitals give us the opportunity to offer primary and secondary care in more places and increases UCSF Health's ability to care for patients with complex medical needs. Combining community care with academic medicine makes convenient, comprehensive care easier to access for all our patients.UCSF Health Saint Francis Memorial Hospital is an accredited, not-for-profit community hospital that has been providing exceptional health care in San Francisco for more than 100 years. As San Francisco's only downtown hospital, Saint Francis is uniquely situated to care for international and domestic visitors, as well as the residents that make up San Francisco's diverse population.
Located atop Nob Hill, Saint Francis is home to the largest burn center in Northern California, the both in Burn Center, the Saint Francis Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute, and the Center for Pain Management, to name a few.

We are proud to be part of UCSF Health to provide convenient, highly specialized care to our community.Required QualificationsAt least 6 months experience as a Staff Radiation Therapist in a Radiation Oncology department.Graduate of an accredited RTT programExperience with the use of Megavoltage and orthovoltage machines.Knowledge of Simulation procedures, HDR, BrachytherapyAbility to act independently, ability to exercise appropriate independent judgment regarding set-up or treatment decisions.Excellent verbal communication skills, demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a variety of people.Positive attitude toward teamwork concept essential.Preferred QualificationsNALicense/CertificationRegistered Technologist in Radiation Therapy
