Systems Administrator, Windows & Virtual with an active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
as part of an ongoing contract in Washington, DC.
This is a full-time, hybrid role three (3) days on-site two (2) days remote AFTER TRAINING.Please note: Due to the secure nature of this government agency, all candidates must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident and have an active Top-Secret Clearance and be SCI eligible.The successful candidate will receive a contingent offer based on the outcome of a government background check. This may take several weeks, and the candidate cannot begin actual employment until the background check is successfully completed.The Systems Administrator, Windows & Virtual, will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Windows servers and virtual environments. This role requires extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems, virtualization technologies, and a strong focus on ensuring system availability and security.Primary Duties:Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and virtual environments.Manage and support virtualization technologies, such as VMware and Hyper-V.Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems and data.Perform regular system backups and recovery operations.Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and processes.Collaborate with IT teams to plan and implement system upgrades and patches.Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and IT staff.Conduct system audits and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration or related field.Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows Server 2012R2, 2016, 2019).Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell).Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.Preferred certifications/education:Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or equivalent certification.VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent certification.Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Physical Demands:
