As the Web Developer in the Marketing team at Benchling, you'll be the architect behind dynamic web experiences that draw in, engage, and convert visitors to Benchling.com. This role includes a combination of front-end, back-end and design responsibilities for developing new web experiences and managing our CMS and back-end infrastructure.You'll collaborate closely with marketers across the team to craft a world-class web presence that is not only visually compelling but also optimized for performance and aligned with our business goals. Your work will be critical in ensuring our website drives measurable success, from seamless user journeys to hitting key KPIs.RESPONSIBILITIES
Build easy-to-use and performant websites serving multiple partners across marketing and designParticipate in the full development lifecycle, including estimation, design, development, testing, and deploymentCollaborate with our Creative team to develop website designs and page components that provide an amazing web experienceBuild responsive and optimized pages and page templates in HTML, CSS, Javascript, and nextJS.Continually improve the CMS authoring experience to simplify and fast-track the creation of web content piecesManage tools integrations that allow us to track website performance across the marketing lifecycleImplement technical SEO fixes and recommendationsManage our web hosting platform. Make necessary updates and improvements for optimal performance.Review and respond to operational issues, escalating as necessaryShare regular release notes with technical and content/messaging updatesQUALIFICATIONS
4+ years of experience in full stack web development and designProficiency using HTML/CSS/Javascript/GraphQLExperience working with modern front-end UI frameworks. Next.js preferredStrong experience developing within a headless CMS. Contentful preferred.Experience with best practices in code standards and working in a code repo (linting, code reviews, branching strategies, CICD)Experience working with design teams to bring to life UI/UX designs and componentsSolid understanding of usability, responsive design, testing, and technical SEOExperience working with APIs and integrating 3rd party tools/servicesExperience with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and other technologies that track marketing data.Familiarity with marketing automation tools such as Marketo.Proven track record of taking product goals and requirements and delivering business solutionsExcellent communication and organizational skillsSALARY RANGE
Benchling takes a market-based approach to pay. The candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and work location.
