The Massachusetts General Hospital Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care (DPCCM) seeks an academic leader and Pulmonary and/or Critical Care physician to serve as Director of Clinical Research of the DPCCM. The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of research and academic accomplishments that would support appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor of Medicine at HMS, as well as a history of being a dedicated academic and scientific mentor. The Director will oversee the establishment of a unified clinical research infrastructure within our Division and have a robust portfolio of clinical studies demonstrating academic leadership in study design, initiation, coordination, and completion within the fields of Pulmonary and/or Critical Care Medicine.
The DPCCM at MGH is the academic home for over 65 full-time faculty members, many of whom lead major extramurally funded basic, translational or clinical research programs. Division faculty members provide comprehensive care for patients with all types of pulmonary disease and critical illness with active subspecialty programs in pulmonary hypertension, cystic fibrosis, lung transplantation, interstitial lung disease, ECMO, and interventional pulmonology. There are opportunities to collaborate with clinical and translational research programs in the Division, as well as the many MGH research centers, and to supervise and teach residents and fellows. In addition, the Division is committed to advancing clinical, research and educational collaborations across Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School.
The candidate must meet the requirements for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School with experience, training, and achievements in addition to teaching activities. Suitable candidates will have an MD or an MD-PhD, and Board Certification in Pulmonary and/or Critical Care.
