Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Commercial, the Vice President, Marketing will be responsible for developing and overseeing all marketing strategies, branding initiatives, and communication efforts to drive awareness, demand, and market growth for Vera’s products. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of delivering marketing excellence across different segments and therapeutic areas, and a deep commitment to developing people. This high-visibility position offers the opportunity to build and lead a marketing team and play a key role in the Commercial Leadership Team.
Responsibilities:
Lead the creation and successful execution of a long-term brand vision and strategy, informed by robust insights (customer, patient, competition/future landscape).
Build a high-performing marketing team, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
Ensure alignment between marketing, sales, development, medical affairs, and other groups to drive success.
Develop an evidence-based plan, informed by market research and advisory boards to identify core customer needs and key leverage points.
Lead the development of brand guidelines and ensure they are applied across all marketing and communication channels.
Utilize market data and customer insights to guide product positioning, messaging, and promotional strategies.
Oversee digital marketing efforts including content marketing, social media, email campaigns, SEO/SEM, and other online initiatives to drive engagement.
Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient and optimized marketing mix.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
15+ years of experience in biopharma marketing leadership.
Experience in market access and/or sales is highly desirable.
Proven track record of developing successful strategies for high-value biologics, gene therapies, or specialty drugs.
Experience in competitive markets required.
Demonstrated success with launching products.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Expertise in all aspects of the key marketing and sales channels.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams.
Compensation and Benefits:
Vera Therapeutics is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The anticipated base pay range for this role is $300,000 - $350,000, depending on various factors including geography, qualifications, skills, and experience. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity.
