Overview:
University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for financial support through gifts and pledges.
The Assistant Director, Digital Marketing plays a critical role in Annual Giving’s mission to impact the world through philanthropic engagement and annual support of the NYU experience. Responsibilities include:
Grow online fundraising and lead Annual Giving digital initiatives.
Build digital email campaigns and complex audience segmentation.
Engage donors through numerous digital platforms.
Serve as the operational point person for Marketo, UDAR’s email marketing platform.
Support the management and execution of Rising Violets, NYU’s crowdfunding platform.
Work Arrangement:
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Experience:
3+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, including experience with digital direct response, marketing, and content management.
Preferred Experience:
5+ years experience in an academic, non-profit, or development environment. Familiarity with fundraising databases such as Advance and Blackbaud is a plus.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of digital fundraising and email best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate and interact with various staff partners.
Attention to detail to ensure content and data accuracy.
Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines.
Experience writing and developing content and working with external consultants and vendors.
Familiarity with web and digital marketing strategies.
Experience in digital content management systems and project management.
Knowledge of Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Marketo Engage, or other marketing automation systems.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proven record of increasing revenue through digital channels.
Demonstrated ability to train others in technical aspects of digital tools and platforms.
Experience in graphic design.
Experience in higher education, non-profit, or development environment.
Salary:
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $95,000.00.
