Flexport is seeking a Communications Manager to join our Global Marketing and Communications team. In this role, you will collaborate with senior leaders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to lead our corporate and client communications efforts, telling impactful stories that highlight Flexport’s vision, growth, and products.The global logistics industry moves at incredible speed amid constant disruptions, and Flexport plays a pivotal role in helping our customers and our industry navigate uncertainty and adapt to the evolving global logistics landscape. In this role, you will lead our client communications program to inform and educate our customers and the logistics industry at large about ongoing events and their impacts on global logistics and business operations. You will partner with senior leaders and subject matter experts to help shape our corporate messaging to highlight our full suite of product offerings and position Flexport as a trusted partner for businesses of all sizes. You will report directly to the Head of Global Communications, working closely with senior leaders across different business verticals as well as teammates in Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations, and People teams.You will:
Drive our client communications program: develop key messaging, customer emails, and talk tracks to provide critical updates for Flexport customers, such as operational changes, new product features, disruptions, and pricing changes.Create long and short-form content to educate customers and partners on Flexport’s suite of products and services, including overseeing our flagship product newsletter and editing help center articles in partnership with our customer service teams.Partner with business unit leaders and subject matter experts to translate expert insights into actionable insights and guidance for customers when disruptions arise in the supply chain world.Support crisis and reactive communications and drive consistency among client, employee and other stakeholder communications.Lead the creation of robust internal content, including Global All Hands and internal company newsletters, to inform and inspire Flexport employees.Collaborate with the People team to manage internal communication messaging, and advise senior executives on change management.You should have:
5-7+ years' of experience in corporate or communications, product communications, employee communications, or relevant fields. Experience in media relations is a plus.Proven ability to distill complex issues into clear, compelling messaging for both internal and external audiences.Experience in issue management, with excellent judgment in monitoring, escalating, and resolving unexpected challenges.Experience providing strategic counsel to senior leaders on critical communication issues.A superb writer: You write with speed and precision, and you have the ability to incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders and piece together a strong, cohesive narrative under tight deadlines.Strong organizational skills: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, and you know how to manage complex projects, multiple stakeholders and competing priorities to get the most impactful work done.Experience collaborating and providing strategic counsel to senior leaders on critical communications issues.A true team player: you’re always willing to jump in and help out.
