Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking qualified candidates for an Experienced Senior Mining Engineer / Engineering Manager for a Texas based position. This position requires an individual with broad mining experience, some combination of operations, engineering, and corporate office experience is a plus, as well as proven technical competencies to support our industrial and mining sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and economic solutions related to mining engineering, mine planning, mineral processing, and financial analysis. Willingness to lead and manage successful team projects, be a technical lead on multi-disciplinary projects, and perform business development functions of existing and new clients are desirable.
Experience in aggregates, industrial minerals, and large multi-disciplinary project management are a plus and should be highlighted in your application.
Your Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Aggregates & Industrial Minerals Discipline LeadDiverse background on industrial and mining projects, past career focus in aggregates, mine planning, geotechnical/civil engineering, or mineral economics is a plus.Ability to interpret and direct others in the use of planning software programs such as MineSight 3D, Carlson, Minemax, Vulcan, or similar packages (ability to use yourself is a plus)Ability to direct others in the use of efficiency and financial programs such as Excel, MineMax, Deswik, Tableau, Monte Carlo, or similar packages.Provide mine engineering and financial expertise through strong operational and project-based experience.Strong technical writing and communication skills demonstrable through the reporting and presentation process.Assist in developing and expanding our services with new and existing clients.Manage tasks and direct and develop our staff as required.Capability to develop project budgets, determine project scope, establish schedules, process appropriate paperwork, and interacting with clients.Ability and desire to engage in business development (e.g. develop proposals and identify project opportunities) with a focus on external relationships and key clients in the US.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and CredentialsUnderstanding of contracts and engineering delivery methods and various pricing structures for projects.Attention to detail and strong QA/QC skills.Understanding of project related risks.Strong technical writing and communication skills.An existing and well-established network in the mining industry, aggregate or industrial minerals is a plus.Exceptional organizational, technical, leadership, written and oral communication and attention to detail skills.Demonstration of innovation of the mining process for past projects or roles
Education and ExperienceMinimum of a B.S. in Mining, Civil, or Geotechnical EngineeringMinimum of 8 years of experience, aggregate or industrial minerals experience is a plus.Currently licensed or willingness to pursue a P.E. (Professional Engineer) and/or QP (Qualified Person) during the first two years of employment.

Salary Range(s):$112,300 - $168,500 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI and MD
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
