The project will engage other UC campuses focused on behavioral and other traffic safety work establishing a new collaborative group.

Your Role on the Team

The project manager will manage a unique project comprised of UCI and other UC campus faculty, as well as community stakeholders focused on addressing California motor vehicle crash challenge areas to eliminate injuries and deaths on our roadways.The project manager will receive guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing the methods to attain them.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required:Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with all project faculty, team, and stakeholder/community partners.Working knowledge of public health, community education and training, and development of programs.Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Effective leadership skills, including coordinating and organizing project activities for project success.Demonstrated high-level communications skills to convey information in a clear and concise way.Demonstrated ability to properly evaluate information, and prepare concise, well-organized reports, summaries, and correspondence while maintaining strong attention to detail.Ability to think critically, compile information from various sources, and prepare reports.Skill in working independently, taking initiative, following through on all assignments, and multi-tasking with demanding timeframes.Ability to work as a supportive, cooperative, and collaborative member of the project team and plan and organize project related events.Ability to multitask and definitively adhere to meeting project deadlines within a fast-paced environment.Ability to establish, organize, and maintain project files and records while being discretion and maintaining all confidentiality.Proficiency in Google Docs, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe PDF, Image Editing Program, Data Visualization Tools (e.g., SAS)Preferred:Bilingual in English/Spanish with high fluency in speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish.Master's degree in health sciences (Public Health, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, etc.) or Business Administration.At least 2 years' experience working in program implementation, research projects, and/or community-focused/based education.

Special Conditions:Work daily on UCI campus and travel to community/event sites for project activities and project-related visits as needed.Possible weekend and evening hours.
