About the jobAs a
Technology Cloud Engineer , you will participate in the selection, implementation, and management of cloud technologies to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. For this role, we are seeking a highly motivated Database and integration engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring our company’s successful journey to Microsoft Azure. This person will be a key member of the Cloud Platform engineering team. This cross-functional team supports data and integration platforms for our customers across various business units.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage database solutions on relational and NoSQL databases.
Provide necessary support for Oracle and MongoDB Atlas as required working alongside our offshore support vendor.
Participate in architecture discussions for native Azure platforms such as Azure SQL DB, CosmosDB, Synapse, Purview, and Fabric.
Collaborate with other teams such as DevOps, Information Security Operations, BU IT, Enterprise architects, and business stakeholders to roll out new products. This would mean taking a product from concept to a scaled solution.
Maintain and modify Azure bicep templates and CI/CD pipelines for the platform the team supports.
Leverage public cloud platforms (specifically Microsoft Azure) to help deploy, manage, and optimize database workloads.
Create and manage dashboards and reports that communicate insights to stakeholders.
Implement robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity.
Perform regular performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting to optimize database efficiency. Script automation tasks to streamline administrative processes.
Collaborate with development teams to understand data needs and design efficient data models.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data analytics, data science, statistics, computer science, engineering, or related fields.
Minimum of 7 years of related work experience in data and integration platforms. Preferred to have a minimum of 5 years of managing databases.
Familiar with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL database concepts (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric).
In-depth experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform for database deployments.
Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, PowerShell scripts, and CI/CD tools.
Some exposure to Data Governance, for e.g. worked on tools like Collibra and Informatica Data Quality.
A demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing environments.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
Proven ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
Preferred experience with data warehousing and data analytics solutions such as Azure Synapse Analytics.
Preferred experience with PowerBI, Purview, and/or Microsoft Fabric.
Preferred knowledge of DevOps methodologies.
Preferred experience with data engineering or analysis in the manufacturing industry.
Preferred experience in AI, Machine Learning (ML).
