Job Purpose or Objective(s):
The Director of Sales directs the sales and marketing efforts for the group sales department. The Director of Sales is accountable for guest room and catering/conference revenues. You will maximize profitability for the hotel and property through group bookings. The Director of Sales will work with revenue management and marketing teams to develop strategies to maximize profitability and grow market share. They are responsible for the short- and long-term planning and daily operations of the hotel sales department; help prepare the sales plans, programs, and annual budget; manage within approved plans and budgets; daily operations, training, and directing of the sales staff. You will report to the Casino General Manager.Primary Tasks:Lead a team to increase total hotel revenue and oversee the achievement of budgeted revenue streams.Develop sales strategies through preparation of a strategic sales plan, implementation and administration of the Sales budget and the establishment of annual sales goals.Maximize profitability and ensure outstanding quality service for the guests.Accountable to market performance and potential performance and budget, forecast, and target goals.Manage all group and catering/conference sales activities to maximize revenue.Prepare data for the strategic sales plan, annual goals, sales and marketing budget, forecasts and other reports as directed/required.Recruit, mentor, and motivate sales department personnel to accomplish their potential and develop individuals for advancement. Provide support and coaching for team members to lead high levels of performance, job satisfaction, and personal growth.Maintain positive working relationships with all locations, departments, staff, and vendors.Improve by developing strategic services that enhance brand vision.Promote and help establish Choctaw Casinos as a major upscale brand. Monitor sales activities/performance to ensure revenue goals exceed established plan and reporting variance/projections to management.Perform other tasks as assigned.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree or 4 years directly related experience.Excellent oral and written communication techniques.Understand P&L statement and how his/her actions impact the overall profitability of the department and property.Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing/hospitality profession.Effective management, leadership, organizational and communication skills.Strong computer skills.
