Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Supervise and train police department volunteer officers and support staff.
Develop departmental goals, objectives, and policies.
Safety and Security:
Assess and mitigate risks to ensure a safe school environment.
Develop emergency response plans and conduct safety drills.
Community Engagement:
Foster relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community.
Provide education on safety issues and conflict resolution.
Law Enforcement:
Enforce laws and school policies on campus.
Investigate incidents and collaborate with local law enforcement when necessary.
Reporting and Compliance:
Maintain accurate records of incidents and investigations.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding school safety.
Qualifications:
Licensed Texas Peace Officer
Law enforcement experience, with a focus on community policing and school safety.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of legal issues related to schools and law enforcement.
Skills:
Crisis management and conflict resolution.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.
Proficiency in technology and data analysis related to safety measures.
Working Conditions:
Primarily based in school settings, with some administrative duties off-site.
May require flexibility in hours, including evenings and weekends for events or emergencies.
