Position : Safety Director (Hybrid)
Position Summary:The Safety Director will provide comprehensive support in all areas related to safety, including training, inspections, and investigations, aligned with the company’s business objectives. The role's primary focus is to ensure consistent safety compliance while introducing innovative ideas to foster teamwork, morale, and growth.
Job Functions:
Plan, organize, and set objectives for safety-related projects.
Assist with onboarding, ensuring a consistent introduction to the MGC’s Safety Program across all locations.
Inspect facilities, jobsites, machinery, and equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, ensuring safety compliance. Conduct regular safety audits.
Investigate work-related accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
Maintain and apply knowledge of current safety policies, regulations, and processes.
Conduct or facilitate safety training at supervisory and field levels.
Recommend safety features to reduce exposure to work hazards.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):
Degree or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of safety-related practices and procedures.
Strong knowledge in Workers' Compensation, OSHA, DOT.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to read and comprehend instructions, policies, and procedures.
Experience: 3 to 5 years+ in construction safety or safety-sensitive positions.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable):
Bilingual is a plus.
OSHA 500 certification.
Roofing or construction experience.
Occupational Health and Safety:
Physical Effort:
Extensive sitting, standing, walking, climbing ladders. Occasional lifting not to exceed 50 pounds.
Travel:
Yes, depending on the project.
