Job Summary
The Research Associate will be involved in the development of new cell culture products. He/she will be involved in determining the feasibility of new products and new cell culture processes for in-house and custom projects. This role will also be involved in troubleshooting issues related to existing products together with QA, manufacturing & QC teams. In addition, he/she will work closely with PD & marketing scientists to develop post-launched product application data for market promotions.
This role requires mammalian, primary cell culture experience. Knowledge of process development for antibody production, particularly hybridoma, on a small and large scale is a plus.
He/she must have excellent organizational skills, attention to details, and accuracy. Be able to maintain good documentation practices and generate reports. Must be proficient in computer software use (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task. Must be collaborative and have good communication skills.
Essential Functions
Following high level of instructions, design and conduct experiments independently.
Lead laboratory activities such as trainings, ordering supplies, keeping inventories updated.
Create SOPs and other documentation relevant for the product development.
Troubleshoot cell based-assays.
Perform primary and cell lines culture when necessary.
Quantify and characterize antibodies by multiple techniques (SDS-PAGE, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, and others).
Troubleshooting and conduct process improvements on cell culture.
Perform good ISO-compliant documentation.
Work independently as well as part of a team.
Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced goal-driven environment.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with teams including R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Control.
Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.
Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience
B. S.in Biology, Immunology or another related field with 4+ years of related experience
OR
M.S. in Biology, Immunology or another related field with 6+ years of related experience.
2+ years of relevant experience working in an academic or industry laboratory.
2+ years of cell culturing experience.
1-2+ years of experience with SDS-PAGE, ELISA, and flow cytometry.
Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience
Prior experience in a GMP environment.
Experience stem cell culturing.
Experience in cell-based assays.
Experience in development or characterization of antibodies (Ig Quantification, Flow cytometry, etc.).
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Lab
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $35.00 - $40.00/Hour. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
