Assistant Professor, Exercise ScienceCurry College's Department of Health Science is accepting applications for a Full-Time Assistant Professor serving as Exercise Science Program Coordinator. The Assistant Professor will teach undergraduates, in-person, at our Milton, MA campus.Full-time faculty are responsible for planning and presenting the material assigned for their course. This includes edits to Syllabus, presenting educational material in a clear/manageable fashion, creating an active learning environment, and examination/grading in a timely manner. Full-time faculty are expected to work collaboratively with faculty in the department to ensure consistent course delivery.Screening and review of candidate application materials will begin immediately and will be ongoing.Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor will teach a Full-time load, with coordinator release time, to Undergraduate students in person at our Milton location;Full-Time, Assistant Professors are expected to work collaboratively with faculty in the department to ensure consistent course delivery;Assistant Professors must use the College's learning management system, Canvas, to post syllabus, assignments, grades and other materials to actively communicate with students;Office hours are to be expected as well as timely communication/response to members of the college as well as students;Maintain accreditation standards including annual reports;Oversee curriculum standards for both the Exercise Science Major and Minor;Maintain laboratory equipment including calibration of Metabolic devices;Meet Full-time advisee load.Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of a Clinical Doctoral Degree in a relevant discipline such as Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition, Doctorate in Physical Therapy, or related clinical science.Minimum of two years clinical experience within the field of Exercise Science.Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in higher education.Minimum demonstration of skill in running, calibrating, and maintaining Exercise Testing laboratory equipment.Minimum experience in curriculum development specific to Exercise Science.Minimum experience in the accreditation process through CAAHEP / CoAES.Preferred Qualifications:
The Department is seeking candidates with a strong clinical experience within the field of Exercise Science.Experience teaching at the higher education level for a minimum of 5 years is required.Strong oral and written communication skills.Experience and skill with curriculum development and writing.Experience with CAAHEP / CoAES accreditation.Skill with running Exercise Testing using Omnia and Monark Software.Experience overseeing exercise science laboratory equipment, including calibration, orders for consumables, equipment maintenance.Committed to attracting and retaining a diverse staff, Curry College will honor your experiences, perspectives and unique identity.
