Your role at Clorox:
Serve as Chief of Staff to the EVP, Group President, of Care & Connection. Accountabilities include advisorship, strategic alignment and executional integration to enterprise and within Group and BUs, operational efficiency and process optimization, and overall operating support for the Group President and C&C leadership team. This role also facilitates and crafts communication with key stakeholders, including drafting impactful decks and materials for Board of Directors and executive teams.
Strategic Alignment & Execution:
Serve as a key advisor to EVP ensuring alignment between enterprise and Group priorities and ongoing operations with C&C. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive key C&C operations initiatives and projects, ensuring that they align with the organization’s goals and vision.
Operational and Enterprise Efficiency and Process Optimization:
Responsible for creating and implementing operational processes, management routines, and communication cadences that enable the SBUs and total Group to operate more effectively in delivering short and long-term business outcomes. Continuously assess and improve C&C operational processes to enhance productivity and quality.
Leadership and Organizational Support:
Act as a liaison between the EVP and other parts of the organization and functions, ensuring effective communication and fostering a culture of collaboration with the C&C group.
Operating Support:
Further enable the EVP’s effectiveness by being a daily partner in key activities and ensuring the EVP’s strong preparation with ongoing C&C operations and key engagements. Partner on myriad of ongoing business needs including key projects, executive and Board-level communications, etc.
Lead and Drive C&C Leadership Operating Agenda:
Partner with EVP, Group President, to envision, develop, and execute the ongoing operations agenda of the Care & Connection Group to ensure delivery of annual and multi-year operational planning outcomes.
Alongside the Group President, continuously translate the operating agenda of the enterprise into C&C’s specific operating agenda through quarterly focus areas & resulting initiatives and ways of working for the C&C Leadership Team and Group-BU.
Actively build and drive all C&C Leadership meeting agendas and communications, lead key sponsored topics, and act as a provocateur and lead facilitator at all meetings.
Act as the ongoing leader of C&C Leadership team performance including working with sponsors to shape initiatives & influencing them to bring key topics forward, designing and executing HPT plans with key C&C leaders, and ensuring strong operating foundation (e.g., charter, principles).
Lead End-to-End C&C Business Planning Process & Execution:
Develop & operationalize annual and multi-year operational planning processes at the C&C level integrating interdependent functional and resource planning for seamless connectivity. Partner with Group Finance VP, Director of Enterprise Planning, and other key functional VPs to drive greater integrated planning for C&C within the enterprise and improve the quality of planning outputs.
This Director works for the Group President. This role interfaces with the SBU GMs, Group Functional VPs, and centralized groups including the VP, Operations & Strategy, Director of Business Administration, VP MTO/NRM, and VP IBP. The role must also partner closely with the equivalent role in the other Group, as well as with the Director of Enterprise Planning.
This role is an enterprise leader role ideal for candidates with future GM aspirations to provide earlier career visibility to strategy and business operations work across a large portfolio; but could also be appropriate for high potential functional leaders looking to broaden their experience set with enterprise work.
In this role, you will:
Develop and lead the C&C operating agenda
including building ongoing focus areas, meeting agenda, facilitating key topics, and driving follow-through and results. Implement and enable business
performance metrics tools and routines
for Group and SBUs, including progress against key targets and metrics. In partnership with Group functional leads, recommend SBU targets and metrics to Group President and develop tracking mechanisms. Help drive connectivity between BU reporting and enterprise reporting to enable clear metrics and simplify ways of working.
Enable
implementation of enterprise operating processes and capabilities
into the SBUs, including a heavy focus on developing and leading integrated annual and multi-year planning for C&C and standard work processes. Support capability pilots and help to quickly scale, as appropriate, across BU’s.
Understand
enterprise priorities
and agendas for the key executive teams (especially Enterprise Operations Team and Enterprise Planning) and
ensure seamless connection between them . Create executive-level presentations and materials and be able to understand and articulate a business story and surface key insights.
Facilitate effective ongoing Group communication
and coordination via managing Teams channels, meeting notes, communication tools, and offsites.
Strategically advise and support Group President
enterprise initiatives and special projects , including as initiative lead and/or subject matter expert.
Identify and remove waste
in operational processes, routines, and reporting. Actively seek redundant or low value work to eliminate, and scope work initiative to improve outcomes for lower effort. As needed partner with Enterprise and/or C&C resources, depending on nature of waste.
What we look for:
Minimum 8+ years in roles of increasing responsibility in Sales, Marketing, Finance, and/or management consulting. Roles must have included significant cross-functional collaboration.
Desirable: The ideal candidate would have experience in management consulting or similar work, where they have experience toggling between self-driven work product that incorporates the perspective of a broad audience of senior leaders.
