Director Fiduciary Governance guides relationship management and operations, ensuring compliance and prudent risk management practices are followed. Interact with various Lines of Defense (LOD) and Regulators on fiduciary matters. Oversee complex account openings/closings. Ensure compliance with investment policies and regulations. Oversee trust tax operations and liaise with third parties. Identify and implement policy, procedural, and process improvements. Evaluate and optimize workflows, reducing risk and improving efficiency and accuracy.Position Responsibilities:Fiduciary Oversight & Governance:
Develop and implement the overall strategy for the fiduciary guidance organization, aligning with the organization's strategic objectives.Ensure the development and implementation of market-leading policies and procedures for fiduciary practices, account opening, and account closing, ensuring alignment with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.Foster strong relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor on fiduciary matters and during complex account transitions.Collaborate closely with sales and advisor teams to ensure efficient onboarding and account management processes.Engage with internal and external auditors and regulators to ensure compliance with fiduciary standards and account management practices.Support regular audits and assessments of fiduciary practices to identify and address potential risks and areas for improvement.Develop and implement strategies to enhance fiduciary oversight, risk management, and account management within the trust organization.Oversee the trust team responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements across the organization to drive operational efficiency and reduce risk.Serve as lead for ongoing review of business committees to ensure compliance with charter(s); ensure appropriate representation at meetings and continually review materials for relevance.Serve as point of contact for line 1.5, 2, and 3 resources to intake needs from an audit/compliance/regulatory perspective, and push requirements for change into the trust organization.Fiduciary Strategy & Planning:Monitor and report on key risk indicators (KRIs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to fiduciary practices, account opening, and closing, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Lead strategic planning sessions, providing insights and recommendations to inform the organization's direction for fiduciary practices and account management.Develop and manage the fiduciary guidance budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and achievement of financial targets.Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes and lead efforts to tailor/update service offerings as needed to ensure the fiduciary guidance function remains compliant and competitive.Leadership and Management:Recruit, train, mentor, and manage the fiduciary guidance team, ensuring high performance, professional growth, and alignment with the organization's strategic goals.Provide visionary leadership to the fiduciary guidance team, setting clear goals and expectations to drive high performance and professional growth.Provide training and support to trust advisors and operational staff on fiduciary responsibilities, account opening, and account closing processes.Develop and manage staffing models for each role within the fiduciary guidance and client onboarding teams as well as the broader trust organization.Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting inter-departmental collaboration to support cohesive and efficient fiduciary practices.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the fiduciary guidance function, encouraging proactive identification and implementation of best practices.Operational / Risk Responsibilities:Promote an effective, sustainable risk management culture and ensure team adherence to risk management frameworks.Establish and maintain policies and procedures to ensure efficient and compliant trust administration across accounts of all asset sizes.Ensure that compliance requirements, including administrative account reviews and corporate compliance training, are met timely and accurately.Identify operational issues, system issues, etc., and set strategic direction for platform updates to be created in operating systems.Oversee the development and management of the budget for the Fiduciary Guidance function, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and achievement of financial targets.Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
