CBIZ's Accounting Advisory Services practice is seeking a Senior Consultant with 3+ years of experience in public accounting as well as industry experience as a senior accountant, accounting manager, or consultant role to join the organization’s team to support our New England practice. The Senior Consultant will be an integral part of the accounting advisory services’ team primarily focused on delivering technical and operational accounting support for clients, while developing managerial and client-serving skillsets in a team-oriented environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and high-energy team and to directly impact the performance and success of the practice. Essential Functions and Primary Duties: Provide accounting advisory support to clients, including implementation assistance with new accounting standards. Outsourced Senior Accountant work. Assist in the drafting of technical accounting memos for various topics such as equity versus debt classification, revenue recognition, business combinations, lease accounting, and other technical accounting matters. Perform technical industry and company research utilizing online tools and publicly available information. Assist in the preparation of clients' internal and external financial statements including supporting schedules and required disclosures. Assist clients in closing their books on a monthly and annual basis. Assistance with audit readiness. Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced analytical and issue resolution intelligence; problem-solving is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Well-developed aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment. Ability to effectively interface with team members and client personnel in deadline-driven situations. Ability to manage multiple workflows while staying organized. Proficient with PC environments and related software, including Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced skills in Excel. Proficient use and analysis of computer models and development of dynamic spreadsheet applications. Understanding of and experience with application and research of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). CPA. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation, or related field. 3+ years of experience in public accounting or related field. 1 year of supervisory experience. Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally. Must be able to travel based on client and business needs. Proficient use of applicable technology. The annual salary target for this job in this market is $85,000-$135,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
