We are hiring a

Vice President Corporate Tax

in Bloomington, MN. In this role you will lead our tax function in all areas, including tax planning and research, compliance with

federal, state, and local tax regulations

and compliance with ASC 740. You will establish the overall direction, tax policies and strategic initiatives while working to minimize tax liabilities, maximize financial efficiency and effectively managing risks.

The Vice President, Corporate Tax will work closely with our business units and develop an intimate knowledge of the operations to provide business decision support and drive strategic value, including tax planning around potential mergers and acquisitions.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the organization's financial position.

Direct, mentor and lead a team of tax professionals in executing tax-related functions.

Oversee the preparation, review and filing of all corporate tax returns and compliance activities while driving operational and financial efficiency.

Provide leadership in managing tax planning, risk management, and mitigation strategies.

Manage relationships with tax authorities, ensure appropriate issue analysis and negotiations of audit settlements during tax examinations while achieving favorable outcomes.

Proactively identify potential opportunities in tax strategies, controls, reporting and other aspects of the business and recommend solutions.

Analyze the financial impact of potential mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.

Review of monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provisions, including deferred tax analysis.

Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations, to understand impact to organization and ensuring compliance.

Responsible for the budget and actuals of the tax department cost center.

Responsible for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance through documentation of controls.

Preferred requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; advanced degree or CPA designation strongly preferred.

12+ years of experience in tax management, with a track record of successful tax planning and compliance for a large organization. Experience in both public and private environments highly preferred.

In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles. Ability to analyze and apply tax accounting literature and guidance to complex accounting transactions.

Strategic thinking and the ability to align tax strategies with overall business objectives.

Strong leadership, managerial skills, and business acumen, including proven track record leading a highly effective team of tax professionals. Must thrive a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for dealing with internal and external stakeholders. Educator of others that is respectful and able to translate tax rules and concepts into clear actionable information.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for assessing complex tax issues.

High level of integrity and ethical conduct in handling sensitive tax matters and conveys those values within the tax team and across the business.

Strong technical skills in tax planning, tax compliance and ASC 740. A solid understanding of US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards and hands-on familiarity with internal controls and KSOX compliance.
