The Global Multi-Asset team applies a top-down macro investing approach across all public asset classes, including global stocks, fixed-income, currencies, and commodities in its management of multi-asset portfolios. The team manages ~$10bn in assets for a diverse range of clients in separately managed institutional accounts and mutual funds.
The Global Multi-Asset (GMA) Team is looking for a Global Fixed Income & FX and Macro Investment Analyst to join the team. The role will focus on identifying investment opportunities in G10 and EM1 fixed income and FX and making investment recommendations to the GMA team's portfolio managers. In addition, the role will involve analyzing macroeconomic trends and inflection points, as well as macroeconomic policy in G10 and EM. Excellent analytical and communication skills are required.
The position level for this role is: Executive Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Researching G10 and EM fixed income [1] (focusing on duration and curve, and corporate credit at the asset class level) and FX markets to identify investment opportunities- Making investment recommendations to portfolio managers based on extensive fundamental analysis- Coverage of macroeconomic trends and monetary and fiscal policy in key countries- Building and maintaining macroeconomic and asset pricing models and quantitative screens to assist research process- Researching implications of global macro themes for main asset classes- Ongoing monitoring of relevant positions in portfolios- Contributing research for GMA team clients- Advanced Degree in Economics or related field and at least 8-10 years of research experience covering global/US fixed income and FX markets- Solid grasp of major analytical frameworks relevant for fixed income and FX analysis and deep understanding of macro-economic concepts- Demonstrated ability to produce insightful investment research and make high quality investment recommendations- Strong statistics and quantitative skills as position involves extensive quantitative modelling and working with existing quantitative research platform- Familiarity with broadly used statistical/ software packages such a EViews/ R/ Matlab/ Python- Strong communication skills importan- Resourceful, self-motivated individual with intellectual curiosity, passion for markets and investing, and strong work ethic
1 Note that coverage of the G10 and EM universe will be split between two investment analysts (one existing and one to be hired). In addition, the EM universe will be limited to large and liquid EMs.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $225,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
