Water Treatment Specialist

The Mission Ahead
Under direct supervision, assigned daily work. May explain instructions and documentation to plan work activities. Helps coordinate movement of materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. Completes and reviews records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various cleanup activities. Job may require moderate to heavy lifting. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
Who You Are
Controls treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption and for industrial use. Operates and controls electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow of water into treating plant. Dumps specified amounts of chemicals into water or adjusts automatic devices that admit specified amounts of chemicals into tanks to disinfect, deodorize, and clarify water. Turns valves to regulate water through filter beds to remove impurities. Pumps purified water into water mains. Monitors panel board and adjusts controls to regulate flow rates and distribution of water. Cleans tanks and filter beds. Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment. Tests water samples. Records data such as residual content of chemicals and water pressure.
This role will be located in
Chantilly, VA , and will be expected to travel between our facilities in Chantilly and Springfield, VA. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.
What You’ll Do
As a Water Treatment Specialist, you will:
Monitor and manage water treatment systems and operations.
Conduct chemical and physical tests to ensure water quality.
Adjust and repair water treatment equipment and controls.
Keep records of water quality and other indicators.
Maintain Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure that all installations and repairs meet or exceed the set standards.
Facilitate Team Communication: Ensure clear and consistent communication within the team and with other project stakeholders to keep everyone informed and aligned on project goals and updates.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Certification as a water treatment operator.
5+ years of experience in managing water purification systems.
Understanding of water chemistry and environmental regulations.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
Must possess an active U.S Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required. Willingness to take a polygraph and upgrade clearance as required.
High School Diploma or GED: Required as a basic educational foundation.
Attention to Detail: Precision and attention to detail to ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance with safety standards.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions, technologies, and requirements.
Decision-Making Ability: Strong decision-making skills to resolve issues quickly and effectively under pressure.
Military water treatment certification or reverse osmosis certification.
