This position will remain open for application based on business need, which may be before or after the 3-day posting window.Job DescriptionPosition OverviewThe Transmission Associate, Non-Environmental Permitting, leads the preparation, negotiation, acquisition and tracking of various non-environmental permit agreements required for the construction and completion of high voltage electric transmission projects across the assigned territory. In addition to permits, the agreements may also be in the form of easements, leases, licenses or other contract agreements as required.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with internal stakeholders and cross functional teams to understand transmission project permitting needs and requirements.Research permitting entities’ requirements and contact information for preparing and submitting a successful permit application.Interpret and assess the rules and regulations of the permitting entity to determine project compliance requirements.Obtain and share location data, including mileposts or legal descriptions where required.Review fees and costs associated with permit applications, gather additional market data to determine expected costs to the project associated with the permit request.Review ownership information, including title work where required, to determine appropriate ownership information of the permitting entity.Perform quantitative analysis to assist in determining a go/no-go permitting decision for assigned projects, as needed.Successfully negotiate the acquisition of all required permit agreements for assigned projects.Track project specific and on-going permit requirements for the transmission portfolio.Coordinate stakeholder communication efforts and represent Invenergy for all assigned projects.Identify opportunities to eliminate errors and implement process improvements across the transmission portfolio of projects.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.Required SkillsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.3-5 years’ work experience in the energy, utilities, right of way, land management, land use, surveying, or environmental industry.Strong organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems efficiently and effectively without direct supervision.Excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to write effective, concise communications.Proficient in all MS Office software especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.Valid driver’s license required.Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.Preferred SkillsBachelor's degree with a preferred focus of Business, Management, Engineering, Real Estate.Experience working on electric transmission projects or other long, linear energy projects.Industry certifications or licenses applicable to the role including but not limited to AAPL, IRWA, PMP, PE, RLS.Basic understanding of law, engineering, surveying, real estate and contracts.Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings and plans.Basic project management skills and demonstration of capabilities.Experience using mapping software, mainly Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or Google Earth.Familiarity with energy project development including schedules and construction activities.Salary Range : $83,000 - $96,000Benefits : Eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401(k), bonus, paid time off, etc.Invenergy LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
