We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Scientist to join our Science and Research Chemical & Process Sciences team in Newark, NJ. Become a part of the dsm-firmenich Taste, Texture & Health Creation Lab Team.

Your key responsibilities
Discover, develop and industrialize innovative, safe, sustainable and competitive chemical transformations in the Flavor, Fragrance and Beauty space.
Perform independently experimental lab work for assigned projects applying modern lab methods and tools as well as the highest safety standards.
Monitor reactions and analyse compounds of interest applying classical and new analytical methods (GC, HPLC, NMR, FT-IR/NIR,…)
Be an active member of global chemical and technology community.
Actively support production activities as needed.

You bring
A PhD in Organic Chemistry with in-depth knowledge of organic synthesis and key product purification processes.
8+ years of industrial process chemistry/chemical development experience, preferably in specialty/fine chemical industry.
Strong knowledge of modern synthetic organic chemistry, catalysis & process chemistry.
Hands-on experience in typical laboratory operations linked to synthetic chemistry and separation operations including fractional distillation.
