About the Job:Environmental Engineer
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Environmental Engineer to join a globally recognized leader in paper-based packaging. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring that the facility's operations adhere strictly to environmental regulations and support sustainability efforts. You will engage in a variety of tasks from data collection and analysis, site assessments, and managing significant environmental projects aimed at enhancing operational excellence and environmental stewardship. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Learn and adhere strictly to local and company environmental rules, procedures, and guidelines
Report incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes promptly
Collect and analyze environmental data for reporting and decision-making
Perform site assessments to determine the environmental impact of activities
Study human influences on the environment and develop mitigation strategies
Manage and improve conservation management efforts including recycling, water, and air quality projects
Organize efforts to address and correct compliance issues
Provide technical support to various teams as required
Manage the sustainability process and ensure accurate and timely reporting
Undertake additional duties as assigned by management, aimed at enhancing environmental performance
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
3-5+ years of progressive experience in an environmental engineering role
Proven experience in environmental record-keeping and regulatory compliance reporting
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Demonstrated capability to manage significant environmental projects
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Title V permits, NSR permits, PBRs, and standard air permits
Familiarity with SPCC plans, and SWPPP permits
Knowledge in Sustainability reporting and ISO 14001 system management
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
Strong project management and leadership skills
Commitment to upholding safety and environmental standards
