We are actively recruiting for a Director of Data Governance to join our IT Leadership team at Corporate HQ. This person will be focused on delivering solutions to improve decision-making, optimize internal business processes, increase operational efficiency, and ultimately, transform data into actionable insights. This position will lead interdisciplinary teams to improve and streamline the definition and creation of data for Perdue Farms and embed a strong data culture across the organization.Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee data governance teams.Work with business stewards to foster data governance as a strategic discipline; as well as, foster data literacy.Organize and chair a data and governance council that meets at least quarterly.Identify and standardize the use and governance of data in support of the enterprise's business strategy which is in development.Define, manage and advance enterprise information management principles, policies and programs for stewardship, advocacy and custodianship of data and analytics.Foster data-driven culture and the creation of related competencies and data literacy across the organization.Oversee the development and maintenance of a robust information trust model, controls for master data and metadata management, including reference data.Lead regulatory and compliance programs related to data and analytics assets.Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Computer or Information Science, or related field, and 8+ years of relevant experience.The ideal candidate will also have:Proven data literacy - the ability to describe use cases and outcomes, data sources and management concepts across business and technology domains.Deep experience in integrating complex, cross-corporate processes and information strategies, including technology planning and execution and policy development and maintenance.Demonstrated knowledge of the following: information systems/tools, related software and data management, enterprise content management, and recordkeeping policies and practices in a complex organizational environment.Additional skills that are highly preferred include:Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills.Ability to work across business lines at a senior level to influence and effect change. Intellectual curiosity and integrity.Motivated and driven to achieve long-term business outcomes.Strong Relationship Management skills and the ability to influence.Customer centric focus and understanding of service models.A passion for driving business, culture, and technology change in dynamic and complex operating environments.Experience Preferred
Masters Degree and 12+ years of business experience, ideally in business management, legal, financial or information/IT management, recently at or near the executive level.Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
