Brazosport College is a premier institution dedicated to student success and achievement. This college seeks a dynamic, visionary leader to join the team as the Dean of Student Success.

The Dean of Student Success at Brazosport College is a key leadership role responsible for elevating the academic and personal success of students. This position provides strategic oversight for comprehensive advising services, student success programs, retention initiatives, and student support services. The Dean of Student Success fosters an environment of growth and engagement that supports and empowers students throughout their journey at Brazosport College.

Reports to the Assistant Vice President – Student Success and is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

Leads the strategic planning and execution of student success and retention initiatives/programs;

Develops policies and procedures that foster a supportive learning environment conducive to student achievement;

Drives the development of strategic initiatives that support and enhance student completion rates;

Directs the college’s academic support services, units, programs, and departments;

Oversees and expands student success programs and targeted support services;

Serves as an advocate for student needs and enhances student engagement;

Manages student organizations and activities;

Ensures all student services comply with federal and state regulations;

Reviews and updates policies; maintains compliance;

Collaborates and partners with academic departments, faculty, and external partners to integrate academic support;

Develops and manages budgets for student services areas;

Physical Demands:

Able to traverse campus, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, vision, hearing, talking, and ability to drive to off-campus locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of a Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Student Affairs, or a related field from an accredited institution;

Minimum of seven years (7) of progressive leadership experience in student affairs or student services within a higher education setting, with experience at a Director level or above for at least five years (5);

Experience in managing student conduct;

Experience in organizational effectiveness, research and continuous improvement activities, education, and supervision and management;

Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented work habits;

Strong communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to present complex material orally and in writing and strong human relations skills;

Experience working effectively in teams across multiple areas of an organization;

Ability to work effectively with faculty and staff;

Demonstrated ability working with culturally diverse populations;

Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution, including exceptional employment or educational qualifications, may be given special consideration.
