Senior Environmental Planner

to join our

Long Beach, CA

The successful candidate will have technical, project management, and marketing responsibilities in order to lead environmental projects related to the transportation and alternative energy industries. Personnel with a background in CEQA/NEPA clearance for transportation projects, especially with the Caltrans process, are highly encouraged to apply.Responsibilities:Lead or direct multi-faceted planning projects in collaboration with scientists, engineers and other specialists on larger and more complex projects.Demonstrate a clear understanding of project management principles and practices and be responsible for the development of environmental compliance and planning documents in accordance with applicable guidelines and requirements, while delivering assignments within budget and schedule.Serve as a planning specialist, preparing and managing complex environmental analyses and coordinating with key team members, including senior staff, subconsultants, and clients.Produce technical work and written products that are clear, concise, and well-organized. Consistently demonstrate solid writing skills, attentive listening skills, and effectively present complex technical information in client meetings, community workshops, and public hearings.Lead the preparation of proposals for mid-sized projects and assist with proposals for larger projects, providing technical input, contributing to proposal writing, identifying opportunities, and engaging with proposal/interview teams.Lead and direct marketing and business development pursuits including developing capture strategies.Provide mentorship and support for junior staff, including reviewing their work for accuracy and clarity and providing constructive feedback and career development guidance.Thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment and manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines, while working on a team or independently.Required Skills & Experience:Minimum of 10 years of experience in leading or directing the development of high-quality environmental analyses including CEQA and NEPA documentation.Comprehensive knowledge of policy planning, regulatory permitting, and relevant environmental regulations and processes in California.Experience working on CEQA and NEPA documents and permits for transportation-related projects.Excellent oral and presentation skills.Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, planning or related field.Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.The projected range for this position is $102,000-$137,000 annually.*Dewberry is an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action Employer.
