Director of Music Ministry

The Catholic Community of St. Thomas More is seeking a Director of Music Ministry. The Director of Music Ministry (DMM) oversees all aspects of liturgical music in the parish and directs the Schola Cantorum and Hand Bell choirs. The DMM is responsible for developing liturgical music for all Masses in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Hispanic Music Ministry, and the Director of the Celebration Singers.Key responsibilities:Developing liturgical music for parish, school and youth Masses, including Holy Days, special liturgical celebrations, weddings and funerals.Have the ability to flow easily between contemporary, praise and worship, traditional and age-appropriate music for children.Provides training to parish musicians; scheduling and hiring musicians as needed.Recruits cantors, accompanists, choir members and supervises the music library.Bachelor’s degree in musicMinimum of 3 years of related work experience in the area of liturgical music, musical proficiency in piano and voice, communicationEmployment is contingent upon applicants satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checksMust complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment TrainingPreferred Qualifications:Bilingual in English and SpanishMaster’s degree in musicProficiency in OrganSupervises:
