DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:This position will assist in oversight of all youth programming and family engagement activities at the YMCA of Memphis and the Midsouth. The Regional Program Director will extend the Y’s mission by creating a positive atmosphere where everyone is respected and welcomed, building relationships with team members and community members alike.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Assists in the development and monitoring of annual youth programming and family engagement revenue and expense budget to meet branch and association fiscal objectives. Accountable for all youth programming financial results.Directs and supervises youth engagement strategies to meet the needs of the community and fulfill objectives.Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs staff and volunteers for programming needs.Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve program goals. Monitors and approves team hours worked.Develops and implements youth sports programs that promote teamwork, skill development, and healthy competition among participants.Plans and coordinates family-oriented events and activities that foster community engagement and encourage family participation.Assists in the creation of educational and recreational programs for families, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all community members.Evaluates the success and participation of youth sports and family programs, making adjustments as necessary to enhance member experience.Addresses all department staff performance and maintains all appropriate written documentation.Establishes new family and youth program activities in Memphis and surrounding communities.Assists in marketing and distribution of youth programming, may organize and schedule program registrations.Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.Reviews and evaluates staff performance for all programs.Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.Compiles program data. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs.Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must be at least 21 years old and have a current lifeguard, CPR/AED, O2, First Aid certification.Agrees to possess a Certified Pool Operation (CPO), and Ellis & Associate Lifeguard certification within three months of employment.At least two years’ experience in instruction and management of a wide variety of Aquatics programs and pool maintenance.Must have good interpersonal, public relations and communications skills, including the ability to make presentations and handle media inquiries. Proficient in swimming and safety skills. Must be willing to learn all that the YMCA does to impact our community.Ability to work significant evening and weekend shifts required.Multi-lingual desired but not required.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
